The Life Insurance Direct Marketing Association is trying to streamline the process of selling term life insurance.

LIDMA, Woodstock, Ga., has introduced the LIDMA E-Process initiative.

The LIDMA E-Process initiative is a combination of technology standards and regulatory expertise that should reduce the amount of time needed to initiate, process and deliver term life insurance, according to LIDMA.

The E-Process includes electronic signatures, an electronic delivery mechanism and credit card processing technology, LIDMA says.

By reducing costs, the initiative could make selling life insurance to middle-income Americans more attractive, says LIDMA President Pat Wedeking.
