The good news for the independent broker/dealers who competed in the 17th annual balloting for Investment Advisor Broker/Dealers of the Year is that the vast majority of voters gave their B/Ds very positive ratings over all, despite reps' tendency to think for themselves and fiercely protect their independence. However, special congratulations are in order for those firms that were judged to be tops in their class this year, even if they didn't wind up at the pinnacle.
Below are the broker/dealers who finished first, second, and third in their respective divisions in this year's voting.
Division I (up to 199 producing reps)
Harbour Investments
Prospera Financial Services
Summit Brokerage Services
Division II (from 200 to 499 producing reps)
Brecek & Young Advisors, Inc.
The Investment Center, Inc.
