Nevada OKs UnitedHealth Acquisition Plan

Nevada's Division of Insurance has approved plans by UnitedHealth Group Inc. to acquire Sierra Health Services Inc.

The transaction is expected to be completed by year end, according to UnitedHealth, Minneapolis.

Sierra Health, Las Vegas, offers health maintenance organizations, indemnity insurers, preferred provider organizations, prescription drug plans and multi-specialty medical groups to employers, government entities and individuals in Nevada.
