MassMutual's Retirement Services Division, Springfield, Mass., has captured top 10 rankings among all providers for both its recordkeeping and investment platform in the latest 2007 401kExchange Survey.

Plan sponsors in the $10 million to $100 million-asset category ranked MassMutual seventh overall among the top-performing investment managers. MassMutual also earned a top 10 ranking in all four investment platform subcategories, including investment manager fees, investment options,
investment education/communication and investment performance. Sponsors also ranked MassMutual among their top 10 for investment fees and recordkeeping services in the plan administration ratings. In addition to excelling in the $10 million to $100 million-asset category, MassMutual also achieved top-rated status in the micro market survey, illustrating service excellence across a wide range of plan sizes.

"MassMutual's excellent showing is a clear reflection of their strength as a complete financial services company. The ratings underscore MassMutual's commitment to putting those resources to work to meet the changing needs of sponsors and advisors," said Fred Barstein, president and CEO of 401kExchange. "Variety, choice and full fee disclosure are key. By offering an extensive
selection of institutional and retail investments, MassMutual is helping sponsors and advisors fulfill their fiduciary commitments with confidence," he adds.

"MassMutual's Smart Architecture(SM) Investment Program is unique in the marketplace," says Bill O'Grady, senior vice president and head of MassMutual's national sales and distribution organization. "Plan sponsors and advisors want choice… but not at the expense of quality and value. Our results show that sponsors and advisors recognize the advantages of MassMutual's approach to investment management and our responsiveness to their needs," adds O'Grady.

401kExchange polled thousands of plan sponsors, asking them to rate their investment platform and recordkeeper. Ratings are based on the percentage of 401(k) plan sponsors who rated their providers a "4″ or a "5″ on an ascending scale of one to five for overall quality and specific strengths in key areas such as investment fees and investment education.
