The Texas Association of Health Underwriters says state lawmakers should change Texas law to permit employers to pay 100% of employees' health insurance premiums.

Texas law now requires employees to pay part of the cost, according to TAHU, Austin, Texas.

Letting employers pay the full tab could lead to savings for some employers by getting more young, healthy, relatively low-income employees into the plans, TAHU officials say.
