Bank of New York, Mellon Merger Final

The Bank of New York Company, Inc. and Mellon Financial Corporation have completed their merger, creating The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. The new entity is being dubbed "the leading global provider of securities services with $18 trillion in assets under custody and administration," according to a release announcing the merger's completion.

One of the largest global asset managers with more than $1 trillion in assets under management, the release states that The Bank of New York Mellon Corp is the No. 1 provider of issuer services and clearing services, a top 10 provider of wealth management services with 83 offices in the U.S. and U.K. and a top 10 provider of U.S. cash management and global payments.
