Walter White was named president of Woodbury Financial Services, in Woodbury Minnesota, succeeding Brian Murphy, who will be chairman of Woodbury Financial and was in February appointed executive VP and director of the U.S. individual life division of The Hartford, which is the parent of Woodbury Financial.

Murphy says White, who has been with Woodbury for 13 years, has a "proven track record of leadership, along with his organizational knowledge and expertise made him the ideal candidate for the job." White will report to Murphy, according to the firm's June 26 announcement. Woodbury, an independent broker/dealer, has 1,900 affiliated representatives and $16 billion in assets.
