Financial firms shed 11,000 workers in April 2007, reports www.BrokerHunter.com. This job trimming occurred mostly in commercial banking and real estate. The securities industry did lose 1,200 jobs, erasing most of the gains from February and March and bringing the field back to a modest gain of just over 3,000 jobs or 0.3 percent for the year.
