The MetLife Foundation has financed a new report encouraging communities to provide for the needs of a growing population of aging residents.

Launched at a press conference this week in Washington, the report, "A Blueprint for Action: Developing a Livable Community for All Ages," offers cities and counties detailed strategies, tools and suggested solutions for accessible transportation, affordable housing and other support services for aging citizens.

The foundation, sponsored by a unit of MetLife Inc., New York, produced the report in collaboration with the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, Washington, and Partners for Livable Communities, Washington.
