The Financial Literacy and Education Commission plans to meet at 10 a.m. May 15 in Washington

Congress created the commission when it enacted the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003.

In February, the commission asked members of the public for ideas about ways to improve financial education for kindergarten through postsecondary students.

The request for comments included a question asking about the role of private-sector companies in youth financial education.

The meeting is open to the public, but only commission members, staff members and invited presenters can speak at the meeting, the commission says.
