SIFMA Elects Directors

The Securities Industry and Financial Services Association (SIFMA), announced December 20 that it has elected a Board of Directors, the same slate that was proposed at the November SIFMA Launch in Boca Raton, Florida, and nominated officers for whom it is expected that the Board will vote at its meeting in January.

SIFMA Co-Chair Ellyn McColgan, who is president of Boston-based Fidelity Brokerage, says in the announcement: "We couldn't have asked for a better group of representatives to advocate on behalf of the industry."

The slate includes three classes of directors who will serve for three years, for two years and one year.

The directors who are nominated for three-year terms that will end in 2009 include:

Bernard Beal, CEO, M.R. Beal & Company

Shigesuke Kashiwagi, CEO, Nomura Securities International

Alexandra Lebenthal, president, Alexandra & James

Jay Levine, co-CEO and co-president, RBS Greenwich Capital

Thomas Maheras, CEO of global capital markets, Citigroup

Bart McDade, global head of equities, Lehman Brothers Inc.

Paul Purcell, president & CEO, Baird Advisors

John Taft, president & CEO, RBC Dain Rauscher

James Weddle, managing partner, Edward Jones

Richard Weil, COO and managing director, PIMCO

Mark Werner, CEO and head of global markets, Bank of America Securities

The directors who are nominated for two-year terms that will end in 2008 include:

Niall Cameron, managing director and global head of traded markets, ABN AMRO

Deborah Castiglioni, CEO and chief compliance officer, Cutter & Company Brokerage, Inc.

Arthur Grant, president, Cadaret Grant & Co., Inc.

Chet Helck, president & COO, Raymond James and Associates, Inc.

Noe Hinojosa, president & CEO, Estrada Hinojosa & Company, Inc.

Marten Hoekstra, head of wealth management U.S.A., UBS AG

Peter Madoff, senior managing director, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC

Blythe Masters, global head of currencies and commodities, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.

The directors who are nominated for one-year terms that will end in 2007 include:

At the January 2007 SIFMA board of directors meeting it is expected that the following slate of officers will be elected:
