A group of fee-only advisors has set up a Web site for consumers who want to trade in variable annuities.
The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, Arlington Heights, Ill., has set up an "Annuity Rescue Center" section on its Web site, at Document Link, to help consumers use tax-free Section 1035 exchanges to replace existing VA contracts with annuities from Jefferson National Life Insurance Company, New York, a unit of Inviva Inc., Louisville, Ky.
