Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan will be using 1,400 25-watt orange bulbs to form the fourth letter of the alphabet with the windows on the north side of its 11-story building.

The goal of putting a "D" on the side of the building is not to promote the Medicare Part D prescription drug program, but to celebrate the fact that the Detroit Tigers are heading to the World Series, according to Michigan Blue, Detroit.

Michigan Blue will throw the switch on the display Friday.

Michigan Blue is using orange bulbs rather than blue bulbs because the orange bulbs illuminate better, the company says.
