A financial services company is expanding its retirement advice staff.

The Hartford office of ING Groep N.V., Amsterdam, is doubling the number of "transition counselors" on its payroll.

The counselors already on the ING staff have been busy helping baby boomers who are thinking about retiring soon, and younger workers who are coping with the effectives of job changes on retirement savings plans, ING says.

ING is not giving the exact number of transition counselors on its staff, but each counselor is licensed as a life and health insurance agent and holds a Series 6 mutual fund and variable annuity sales license, the company says.
