Every Investment Policy Statement (IPS) should accomplish the following:

o Evaluate the specific needs of the plan and its participants

o Describe the investment objectives and goals of the plan

o Define the duties and responsibilities of all parties involved

o Provide due diligence criteria for selecting investment options for the plan

o Document investment classes, styles and restrictions on investments authorized

o Establish standards and benchmarks of investment performance for comparison

o Explain the policy and procedures related to the hiring, monitoring and replacement

of investment managers

o Establish guidelines and procedures for monitoring and controlling investment

expenses
