Humana Inc. is using hardware from Array Networks Inc. to open the Humana network to employees who are away from the office.

Humana, Louisville, Ky., is managing remote access for employees with Array Networks' SPX5000 SSL VPN system, according to Array Networks, Milpitas, Calif.

Humana is using the SPX5000 system to administer its Medicare Part D prescription drug plan and military health coverage program as well as to serve employees who are traveling or working from home, Array Networks says.

In addition to providing access to Humana's network, the system can check to make sure that the user's computer is complying with Humana's security rules before letting the user enter the Humana network, Array Networks says.
