"The Number" was published early this year with a huge marketing budget as well as stellar reviews from the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. The book, written by former Esquire editor Lee Eisenberg, focuses on our latest and greatest taboo: the financial needs of retirement. Yet, given all the professional accolades, judging by the reader feedback on Amazon, for every reader who has enjoyed the book, there are four or five others who think the money spent on it should have gone directly into a retirement plan instead.
