A giant financial services company is in the market for manufacturers and distributors of individual life insurance.

Andrew Kligerman and other securities analysts at UBS Securities L.L.C., New York, present that assessment in a review of the investor day meeting held by Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford.

Hartford is doing well, but executives emphasized that the company is "more than just an annuity company" and is making a serious effort to get more earnings from the sale of life insurance, international products and group benefits, the UBS analysts write.

Individual life accounted for 12% of Hartford life earnings in 2005, down from 17% in 2001, the analysts write.
