IDS Life Insurance Company is introducing the RiverSource Foundations Protector and RiverSource Foundations universal life insurance policies.
IDS Life, a unit of Ameriprise Inc., Minneapolis, says the RiverSource Foundations Protector UL policy is designed for affordable, lifetime protection against death. The policy comes with a no-lapse death benefit guarantee but limits opportunities for growth of cash value.
For the RiverSource Foundations UL policy, the no-lapse death benefit guarantee is optional, but the policy provides a minimum cash value growth rate of 3%.
IDS Life also is selling versions of the policies aimed at consumers who need death benefits of $1 million or greater.
