Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company has introduced a pair of death benefit guarantee products.[@@]
The products, the UL Guard and SUL Guard products, give purchasers of universal life coverage the ability to guarantee the death benefits, according to MassMutual, Springfield, Mass.
The UL Guard product protects individual life benefits, and the SUL product protects "second-to-die" universal life benefits.
Each product gives purchasers the ability to choose a lifetime coverage period or some other guarantee period.
The product also provides some protection for purchasers who make premium payments late.
MassMutual, the company that issues the products, is responsible for backing the guarantees.
