The U.S. Government Accountability Office says the U.S. Department of Labor should do more to publicize work issues related to the aging of the baby boomers.[@@]
The department already organizes efforts to warn employers about the skills shortage that may result when the boomers retire and eliminate barriers to employment of older workers.
But the issue is so important that the department should do more, by designing "a comprehensive and highly visible public awareness campaign as a way to help employers and employees plan better for the future," the GAO says in a summary of the report.
