The family includes the ING Secure Index Five, ING Secure Index Opportunities Plus and ING Secure Index Seven annuity contracts, according to ING U.S. Financial's West Chester, Pa.-based retail annuities unit.

The unit and ING U.S. Financial are part of ING Groep N.V., Amsterdam.

ING USA Annuity and Life Insurance Company, Des Moines, Iowa, is writing the annuities and backing their guarantees.

Each annuity offers purchasers a menu that includes a fixed-rate index crediting strategy, a point-to-point participation index strategy, a point-to-point cap index strategy and a monthly average index strategy, according to ING U.S. Financial.

The ING Secure Index Five has a 5-year surrender charge period, and the ING Secure Index 7, a new version of the old ING Secure Index annuity, has a 7-year surrender charge period.

The ING Secure Index Opportunities Plus contract offers a 5% first-year premium bonus.
