Genworth Financial Inc. says it has expanded its investment services unit by acquiring C.J.M. Planning Corp.[@@]

The Genworth investment services unit started with about 1,900 registered securities sales representatives, and the deal for C.J.M., Fair Lawn, N.J., will add about 500 more registered reps, according to Genworth, Richmond, Va.

C.J.M. was founded in 1971, or 10 years before the company that eventually became Genworth's investment services unit.

Many of the reps associated with C.J.M. are tax advisors, Genworth says.
