MetLife is offering a new guide to group life insurance to help increase employees' regard for the benefit.[@@]

The guide aims to help employees see the need for adequate life insurance coverage for the sake of their families, says Tony Trani, a MetLife vice president.

"Some employees' life insurance coverage remains the same throughout their tenure, even if during those years they have assumed additional financial responsibilities such as a mortgage and dependents," says Trani.

MetLife points to its own study last year that found 68% of full-time employees with dependents worry about the impact of premature death on their families' financial security, yet 40% have not evaluated their households' life insurance needs.
