LONDON (HedgeWorld.com)–Standard & Poor's gave the Market Wizards Fund a AA rating for fund management following a qualitative evaluation of the fund's investment process and its management by the British firm Fortune Asset Management.

The S&P report on the fund noted its "disciplined process, experience of the key team members and a strong performance record from the fund's launch in November 2001," as well as a high level of transparency for investors.

Standard & Poor's A to AAA rating system is designed to recognize a fund's ability to provide above-average volatility-adjusted returns over long-term periods, as well as the ability to adhere to a consistent investment process. Differentiation between rating categories is based on quantitative factors and S&P's assessment of management and investment processes. To date, S&P has rated 27 funds of funds.

Fortune, established in 1996 along with sister company Global Fund Analysis, manages several strategy-specific and multi-manager hedge funds on both proprietary and advisory bases. The firm oversees more than US$1 billion in hedge fund investments.
