Principal Financial Group Inc. has opened its Principal Investors Fund family to individual investors.[@@]
Principal, Des Moines, Iowa, has started offering individual investors A shares and B shares in 33 of the family's fund options.
The retail Principal Investors Fund family now includes funds run by a total of 14 investment managers.
Previously, funds in the family were available only to institutional investors and Principal retirement plan members, Principal says.
The family menu includes a preferred securities fund, an inflation-protection fund, and a series of "Principal LifeTime" funds designed for investors with specific retirement dates.
