National Planning Holds Inc. has added an electronic signature feature to its Web-based representative workstation system.[@@]

National Planning, Santa Monica, Calif., is a broker-dealer network affiliated with Jackson National Life Insurance Company, Lansing, Mich., an arm of Prudential P.L.C., London.

Reps who work with National Planning can use electronic signature pads in their offices to have clients "e-sign" account opening and trading forms, National Planning says.

National Planning then makes the signed documents available to Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction managers and the broker-dealer back office through the company's Granite back-office administration system.

The e-signature system should increase efficiency, cut costs and speed up payment of commissions, National Planning says.
