Promotions: United Concordia, Prudential, American Community

- United Concordia Companies Inc. has named Thomas Palmer regional sales director for the Southeastern United States.[@@]

Palmer, who previously was a sales manager responsible for United Concordia's sales in Georgia, now will be responsible for the dental insurer's sales in service in a region that includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Palmer has a bachelor's degree in marketing from LaSalle University.

United Concordia, Harrisburg, Pa., is a unit of Highmark Inc., Pittsburgh.

- The retirement services unit at Prudential Financial Inc., Newark, N.J., has named David Musto the new site leader of its Dubuque, Iowa, offices.

Musto, who has been a senior vice president in the retirement services unit's "emerging corporate" department, a department that handles employers with less than $20 million in retirement plan assets, will continue to be a senior vice president in the small plan department.

Musto has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the College of William and Mary and a master's degree in business and international business from New York University. He holds Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant professional designations.

- American Community Mutual Insurance Company, Livonia, Mich., has promoted Jim Stults to vice president, individual sales.

Stults, who previously was vice president of group sales, has a bachelor's degree in industry technology from Western Illinois University.

American Community is oldest health insurer in Michigan.
