Genworth Financial Inc. says Mark Griffin will be filling in for William Wright Jr. as its chief investment officer.[@@]

Wright, who joined what is now Genworth 12 years ago, while it was still part of General Electric Company, Fairfield, Conn., is "leaving the company to pursue other interests," according to Genworth, Richmond, Va.

Griffin began working for what is now Genworth in 2000 and has been chief risk officer at Genworth since General Electric converted business into a stand-alone company in May 2004.

Griffin holds the Chartered Financial Analyst professional designation and is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries.

Genworth will conduct an internal and external search to find a permanent chief investment officer, the company says.
