An active player in the fixed and equity indexed annuity markets is changing auditors.[@@]

The company, American Equity Investment Life Holding Company, West Des Moines, Iowa, says KPMG L.L.P. will be succeeding Ernst & Young L.L.P. as its auditor.

KPMG will take over the auditing role with American Equity's Form 10-Q quarterly report for the third quarter, American Equity says.

"We believe this mid-year change should provide for an orderly transition of this key relationship," American Equity says. "We would like to thank American Equity's current auditor, E&Y, for their contribution to the company's success over many years."

American Equity was founded in 1995.
