UnitedHealth, Minnetonka, Minn., recently acquired Definity Health Inc., Minneapolis, a pioneer in the effort to develop health plans that incorporate health savings accounts and health reimbursement arrangements.

UnitedHealth says new Definity executives include Doug Robinson and Greg Kuhn, 2 alumni of Deloitte Consulting L.L.P.; Bob Young, an executive who once worked at Harrah's Entertainment Inc., Las Vegas; and Abir Sen and Kurt Wolf, 2 Definity founders.

Thanks to the Definity deal, enrollment in UnitedHealth in account-based plans should increase to more than 1 million by July 1, UnitedHealth says. Earlier, UnitedHealth said enrollment in its own account-based plans amounted to about 850,000 at the beginning of the year.
