Bankers Life and Casualty Company says 1,800 volunteers helped it collect donations for the Alzheimer's Association on street corners in 80 cities earlier this month.[@@]

The volunteers raised more than $100,000 for the Alzheimer's Association, Chicago, according to Bankers Life.

Bankers Life, Chicago, is a unit of Conseco Inc., Carmel, Ind.

Bankers Life calls the fundraiser "Forget Me Not Days." Volunteers thank passersby who donate to the campaign by giving them packets of forget-me-not seeds.

The forget-me-not is the official flower of the Alzheimer's Association, Banker's Life says.
