Assurant Offers New EAP Options

Assurant Employee Benefits has broadened its range of employee assistance program options.[@@]

EAPs provide confidential counseling services to employees and their families to help them cope with a broad range of issues ranging from routine problems to serious life challenges.

Assurant Employee Benefits, a subsidiary of Assurant Inc., New York, is offering two choices to employers. Within each choice, the company offers 3 levels of service.

The first choice, EssentialAssist, offers lower-priced options, consisting of either phone assessment and referral counseling; or assessment and referral, plus up to 2 sessions of in-person counseling; or the same benefit with up to 3 counseling sessions.

The second plan, EssentialAssist Plus adds quarterly utilization reports, management consultations and educational workshops to the basic benefit. In addition to phone assessment and referral counseling; its options include either 3 or 6 sessions of in-person counseling.
