David Jones, 73, a co-founder of the Louisville, Ky., managed care company, retired today at the end of Humana's annual meeting. A company policy requires Humana board members to retire at the annual meeting following their 73rd birthday, the company says.

David Jones Jr., 47, has been a member of the Humana board since 1993 and vice chairman of the company since 1996.

David Jones Jr. also has been chairman of Chrysalis Ventures L.L.C., Louisville, a venture capital that he founded in 1993.

David Jones Jr. has a bachelor's degree and a law degree from Yale University. Before he returned to Louisville, he worked from 1988 to 1992 on issues involving East Asia in the general counsel's office at the U.S. State Department.
