A Minneapolis human resources services firm has developed a Web tool for workers who find that child care or elder care arrangements have fallen through.[@@]

The company, Ceridian Inc., says its new Backup Care Locator tool helps employees of client companies draw on a list of 20,000 backup care providers.

Large employers that belong to the American Business Collaboration, Watertown, Mass., a group for sponsors of dependent care benefits programs, paid for development of the Web tool.

The Family & Workplace Connection, Wilmington, Del., a dependent care referral organization, helped Ceridian come up with the list of providers.
