Levine To Lead Pru Security Program

A large Newark, N.J., insurer has promoted a former State Department special agent.[@@]

The insurer, Prudential Financial Inc., has named Eric Levine head of global security for its company-wide operations.

Levine has been vice president of global security at Prudential for the past 8 years

Before Levine began working for joining Prudential, he was a special agent with the U.S. State Department Diplomatic Security Service, where he was responsible for U.S. embassies in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Kathmandu, Nepal. He also was the regional desk officer responsible for security and intelligence coordination for North Africa and selected areas within the Middle East.

Levine now is chairman of the Infrastructure Advisory Committee on Financial Services for the New Jersey Domestic Security Preparedness Task Force.

He holds an associate degree in law enforcement and a bachelor's degree in political science from Central Connecticut State University.
