WASHINGTON (HedgeWorld.com)–LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP hired Ralph C. Ferrara as a partner in the litigation practice of the New York-based firm's Washington office.

Mr. Ferrara's hiring, effective Jan. 1, will allow LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae to further expand its litigation practice, firm Chairman Steven H. Davis said in a statement. He added that Mr. Ferrara would "greatly enhance our capabilities in securities regulation and enforcement and class-action litigation, and bolster our presence in Washington, D.C."

Mr. Ferrara said he was excited to be joining the firm, noting its strong reputation and "deep client relationships" both domestically and internationally.

Mr. Ferrara spent the past 23 years at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, most recently as the managing partner of that firm's Washington office. He also served on Debevoise & Plimpton's management committee and its Securities Litigation Practice, according to a news release from LeBoeuf. Prior to his tenure at Debevoise & Plimpton, Mr. Ferrara worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and served as general counsel there.

Debevoise & Plimpton officials said they named Jeffrey P. Cunard to replace Mr. Ferrara as managing partner of the firm's Washington office. Mr. Cunard's specialties are in communications, copyright and Internet law, according to a news release from Debevoise & Plimpton.
