Cornerstone Names Baker Chief Operating Officer

A young voluntary benefits marketing firm has hired a voluntary benefits veteran.[@@]

George Baker Jr., an executive who spent more than 32 years at UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., will be chief operating officer of the firm, Cornerstone Enrollment Services L.L.C., Nashville, Tenn.

Baker, who also will be a principal of the firm, has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Chattanooga and a master's degree in business from the University of Tennessee.

Cornerstone was founded in early 2004 by Dan Maclellan and Chris Maclellan, 2 great-great grandsons of Thomas Maclellan, the founder of Provident Life & Accident Insurance.
