STIRLING, Scotland (HedgeWorld.com)–Airthrey Capital is starting a new hedge fund with a trading focus on volatility of exchange-traded index options.

Callum Campbell, founder and managing director of the fund, wants to launch the fund within a year and currently is recruiting staff, raising capital and working to gain FSA approval, according to a statement.

Mr. Campbell previously worked for E*Trade Securities in London, where he was responsible for institutional sales in the United Kingdom and Iberia. He also has worked for Phillips & Drew in London and was head of institutional equity derivative sales for Banesto Bolsa in Madrid.

In the statement, Mr. Campbell said he believes the new hedge fund would be the first to operate from "Braveheart country" in central Scotland.
