Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., has made Availity L.L.C., Jacksonville, Fla., its primary gateway for the submission of claims and encounters.[@@]
Humana is asking other clearinghouses to send submissions destined for Humana through Availity.
Doctors can continue to send standard or nonstandard transactions through other clearinghouses or through Humana's Web site, but Availity will get the data from Humana and the other clearinghouses and send it to Humana in a standard format, Humana says.
Providers who use the standard format can submit Humana transactions through Availity for free.
