George P. Schwartz began his financial career as an investment research analyst at two NYSE-member firms in the Detroit area and then chaired the investment committee at the National Bank and Trust of Ann Arbor, Michigan, before founding Schwartz Investment Counsel in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in 1980.
In 1984 he launched the Schwartz Value Fund (RCMFX) and has been its sole portfolio manager since. His firm launched the Ave Maria Catholic Values Fund in May 2001, and the Ave Maria Growth Fund and Ave Maria Bond Fund in May 2003.
