Robert Kerzner, the former head of the individual life division at Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., will be succeeding Richard Wecker as president of LIMRA International this fall.

Windsor, Conn.-based LIMRA has a staff of 200 and offices in London, Melbourne, Shanghai and Toronto.

Wecker has been president of LIMRA since 1997. The New York Life Insurance Company veteran decided to retire months ago, says LIMRA spokesman Howard Drescher.

LIMRA is bringing in Kerzner, who has been a LIMRA board member, because "he has basically had a great record at marketing and sales of life products," Drescher says. "Hes a very energetic guy and a great leader."

Kerzner began working for Hartford in 1974 and spent 20 years there in field sales and management. In 1994, he became an executive in the home office of the companys life insurance unit. He also has served as president of Hartfords Woodbury Financial Services broker-dealer unit.
