Actuary, Advisor Join ERISA Council

NU Online News Service, May 28, 2004, 2:41 p.m. EDT – Federal officials have named an actuary and an investment counseling specialist to 3-year terms on the Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans.[@@]

The 15-member council, better known as the ERISA Advisory Council, gives the secretary of labor advice about the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

The new members from the financial services sector are Charles Clark, an actuary in the New Jersey office of Aon Corp., Chicago, and Sherrie Grabot, president of GuidedChoice Inc., San Jose, Calif., an investment advisory firm that serves members of 401(k) plans.

Clark is a veteran pension benefits actuary.

Grabot once managed human resources systems at Apple Computer Inc., Cupertino, Calif., and helped set up Apple's 401(k) plan.
