NU Online News Service, April 15, 2004, 11:40 a.m. EDT – Insurance Software Solutions Corp., Toronto, a unit of Electronic Data Systems Corp., Plano, Texas, has updated its Ingenium policy administration system.[@@]

The new Ingenium 6.5 version includes E-Links Web Services, an "application programming interface" that insurers can use to connect their computer systems with business partners' computer systems through the Internet.

Insurers also can use the E-Links feature to combine the new Ingenium software with Microsoft Office software and to comply with integration standards developed by the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development, Pearl River, N.Y., SolCorp says.

Another new feature is a tool that sends XML data to print software. That should help insurers print letters, statements and other documents, SolCorp says.

SolCorp has added a third feature that formats addresses to meet U.S. Postal Service standards, and it has improved the new Ingenium system's ability to work with the SolCorp/ProductXpress calculation engine.
