NEW YORK–Citigroup Inc. named Steve Bowman and Jim O'Donnell as co-heads of a global hedge fund initiative from the firm's Global Corporate and Investment Banking arm.

Both men will continue with their previous duties, Mr. Bowman as head of global fixed-income sales and research and Mr. O'Donnell as head of U.S. equities, according to an internal memo from Tom Maheras, head of global capital markets for the GCIB group.

In their new positions, Messrs Bowman and O'Donnell will make sure hedge fund managers' needs are met with respect to fixed income and equities trading and prime brokerage services offered by the GCIB group, Mr. Maheras wrote.

"Their efforts will be critical to increasing our already substantial business with hedge funds–a top priority of the firm," Mr. Maheras wrote.
