Structured Settlement Sales Gain At MetLife

NU Online News Service, March 15, 2004, 1:34 p.m. EST – MetLife Inc., New York, says its structured settlement sales increased to $733 million in 2003, from $449 million in 2002.[@@]

Parties in personal injury lawsuits and other suits use annuities to add structure to settlements and ensure that claimants will receive a steady stream of income, rather than one large, easy-to-squander sum of cash.
