U.S. Bank Broker Activity Falls

NU Online News Service, Feb. 4, 2004, 4:41 p.m. EST – U.S. bank brokerage operations are reporting a 9.8% decrease in sales for December 2003.[@@]

Brokers in banks generated $22,054 in sales that month, down from $24,241 in December 2002, according to the Bank Insurance and Securities Association, Wayne, Pa.

Average productivity for licensed bankers fell to $1,810, from $2,481, but BISA's bank broker-dealer revenue index increased to 123, from 102.
