Agency Publishes ERISA Compliance Guide

NU Online News Service, Dec. 2, 2003, 12:55 p.m. EST – The federal Employee Benefits Security Administration has issued the Reporting and Disclosure Guide for Employee Benefit Plans.[@@]

The guide gives information about complying with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

New topics include information about group health plan disclosure requirements and the new blackout period notice for 401(k) plans.

The booklet also includes information about basic ERISA disclosures and annual reporting requirements for the Form 5500 and Form M-1 tax forms.

Another section lists Web sites that provide ERISA compliance information.
