NU Online News Service, Nov. 13, 2003, 4:20 p.m. EST – The Diversified Services Group Inc., Wayne, Pa., has published "The 2003 Variable Payout Annuity Study," its fourth annual report on the topic.
The study includes summaries of executive interviews as well as results from a survey of variable annuity companies.
Researchers at Diversified found that, in mid-2003, 16 companies were selling stand-alone immediate variable annuities.
Although total immediate VA sales fell in 2002, one-third of the companies in the market increased their immediate VA sales, the researchers found.
The report is part of a series of Diversified reports on the retirement management market.
