David Woods, chief executive officer of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Falls Church, Va., is joining the board of the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association, Washington.

"David Woods brings us more than 40 years of experience in the life insurance industry and a reputation for high principles, commitment and service," says IMSA President Brian Atchinson.

"IMSA will benefit greatly from his insight and contributions as we continue to raise the bar for ethical standards and practices in the life, long term care and annuities products insurance industry," Atchinson adds.

IMSA expects to approve Woods appointment Oct. 14, at IMSAs annual meeting.

Woods says that, as a former life insurance agent, he understands how much consumers depend on the ethical conduct, reliability and reputation of agents and insurance companies.

"Consumers, regulators and members of the insurance industry can rely on IMSA to lead the way in setting high standards and fulfilling its commitment to honesty, integrity and ethics," Woods says.

Woods has been chief executive officer of NAIFA since January. He is also president of the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education.
